Know someone with breast cancer? When you found out about their diagnosis, you were probably immediately saddened and dismayed. Just as it is for the person who has actually received a cancer diagnosis, their friends, family and co-workers can also experience a feeling of helplessness upon hearing the news.
Breast Cancer Is A Formidable Opponent
And, you are right to be concerned. Breast cancer forces women (and some men) to put up a valiant fight in order to have the chance of overcoming the disease. The treatments for breast cancer can be very trying and hard on the body, and the disruption in one’s lifestyle can add stress to the patient’s life.
The good news is that breast cancer is a very high-profile disease. With organizations like Susan G. Komen for the Cure and others raising awareness through organized walking events and other fundraisers, a lot of attention and money is put into fighting the disease each year.
The Fight Is Easier With Friends On Your Side
There is good news for you, too. That is: you can actually make a difference in this person’s life. The good energy that comes from your visits, phone calls, letters, and other forms of attention can enliven their days and encourage progress toward healing.
The very best gift you can give a friend with breast cancer is your time. You may be concerned about visiting or calling too often, and your concerns may be well-founded given that they may not be feeling up to par. But, you can give in other ways. Offer to help run errands for them or take them to and from treatments.
Another way to give is to give an actual gift, of course.
Gift Ideas For A Friend With Breast Cancer
If you are looking for a gift idea for a friend with breast cancer, these 3 tips can help guide your search:
1. Focus on their interests – then go one step further: There is no one-size-fits-all gift. You need to start with the person’s interests in mind. But, take it one step further. For example, if she likes golf, you might NOT want to get her a golf club at this time (see below). But, instead you could get her a golf video, or a golf memento for the home, or a golf-themed crossword puzzle. You get the idea.
2. Express compassion with your gift: Your gift should be all about them – not you. Do not get something for them that you would want to receive. Rather, get them something they want. And, be sure to choose a gift that speaks of your compassion. There should be a gentleness and a thoughtfulness to the gift and to the message in any card you attach.
3. Be conscious of physical limitations: Obviously, you will want to avoid anything that they cannot immediately use or do now. As with the golf club example above, the gift should reflect their current situation. After all, it may be a while before they are able to go back to doing all of the things they love.
Follow these 3 tips when thinking of the right gift ideas for a friend with breast cancer.

If you are one of the many people who suffer from feeling of anxiety, the first thing that you should realise is that you are not alone. In todays hi-tech, high paced society the pressures are enormous, and many people become the victims of attacks of anxiety.
Anxiety sometimes manifests itself as a remote feeling of unease or trepidation, where the cause or reason is hard to pin down. It may also manifest itself in the form of an anxiety attack.
But were you aware that you can practice meditation techniques to effectively reduce anxiety?
They say that practice makes perfect, so the more you actually do use these methods, the easier they will be to invoke, and the more effective they will become. Here’s how.
Breathing Meditation
You should perform this exercise as soon as you start to feel anxious.
First, concentrate on your breathing. It’s always a good idea to watch the rise and fall of your lower tummy. See how your tummy expands and contracts as you breathe. Watch this for a dozen or so breaths, don’t rush, just slow down and take your time.
Next, as you exhale, begin to count, starting at one and finishing on ten. Count on each exhale.
Keep on studying how your tummy expands as you breathe in, and how it returns to a flat position as you breathe out again. Remember to continue counting on each out-breath.
If you forget to count – no problem – simply start over. And if you find any disturbing thought upsetting your rhythm, just concentrate on keeping your count going, and they will disappear.
Body Scan Meditation
If you’re not happy concentrating on your breathing, you may feel better concentrating on your body instead; your hands and feet in particular.
So when anxiety begins…
Start off by shutting your eyes. Then, think about your left hand. Think about how it feels. What is its temperature? Does it fell comfortably warm, or even hot perhaps – or does it feel cool, or cold even? Think about what else you can discern.
If you find distractions starting to creep in, simply go back to the beginning and start again.
Continue this for a couple of minutes.
Walking Meditation
Often when you’re feeling anxious, keeping still is the last thing that you want to do, so why not try walking meditation? With this method you simply concentrate on the act of walking itself. Notice how your legs are moving. But don’t change anything. Just carry on walking as normal, You don’t have to slow down, or glance down at your feet, Simply keep on walking, looking ahead, and all the while just noticing walking.
Mantra Meditation
The mantra meditation therapy is a little more time consuming, but its benefits are enormous! To do this, all you need is to come up with a significant word or sound that you can repeat to yourself in silence. By doing this repeatedly and gently, you will find that it leads you to a place of splendid tranquility.

I Feel Wonderful Today-Seven Tips To Getting Happy
by Jan Fowler
1.   Make a long list of 10 things you feel grateful for. Some ideas: Are you grateful for your job? Are you thankful to your Mom and Dad for your happy childhood? Are you happy that you woke up this morning and could walk, eat and speak? Are you happy for your health? Are you grateful for your husband, boyfriend, kids and friends? Now is the time to appreciate!  Do you have food on the table?
2.   Make a list of all the people who have said nice, complimentary things about you. Go back to high school and really concentrate on this important exercise.
3.   Exercise! Take a walk. It is a clinically proven that even a small amount of exercise increases the serotonin in the brain, the “feel good†chemical.
4.   Focus on your good points and ignore the points that you think are not so good. Do you have beautiful eyes and lush, healthy hair? Focus on your good points and ignore the fact that you may have a few extra pounds around your middle.
5.   Rent a hilariously funny movie. Go to comedy club. Laughter is the medicine that heals all wounds. Think about what really tickles you and makes you giggle.
6.   Smile at the sales clerk and ask about how his day is going. Hold a door open for an older person or offer to carry a bag for them. Wave and smile at a neighbor. Help out a busy mom overwhelmed with her young kids. In other words, extend a helping hand.
7.   When you wake up in the morning, send thank you notes to all the people who have helped you in your life. Think about your friend who made you laugh.  How about your brother or sister who protected you as a child. How about your boss or coworker who helped you out when you really needed it?
These are simple ideas, but sometimes we need to be reminded of our humanity, our caring for others and how kind we are.  Hug a puppy. Smile at a young child or an older person.  You will get great benefit in return.

By Lilly Simpson
Are you a plus sized person who wants to look good? If so, what are you wearing? Need some new ideas, or some new looks? How about some trendy plus size clothing? Many times you can buy something off the wrack or online, so let me give a few ideas.
Especially, if you have gained weight and are in a larger size, you may not know where to look for your current size of clothing. Department stores and Clothing stores are getting to where they are carrying more trendy large size clothing, whether this is for women or men.
Looking Good
Plus size clothing purchased today as compared to a few years ago looks much nicer. Manufacturers realize everyone wants to look nice no matter what size they are. Certain fashion designers are focusing on larger size fashion clothing. Put some nice accessories with it, or some great shoes and you can have a very nice look.
Really, you would have a hard time finding the old style of clothing that your parents might have worn, except when it comes around back into fashion again. You can find some very trendy items that are fun and sexy looking.
Look Like A Fashion Model
Women, with the proper make up, jewelry and shoes, you can look like a fashion model. Men, you can too. With the clothing for large men now days, you see some very trendy clothing.
It does not matter whether you are going to the gym, going to work, having a night out on the town or are being comfortable at home, there are clothes you can look great in. Dress up or dress down, today’s fashion has you covered.
Just make sure you know your current size or check a size chart. Different manufacturers may cut their garments a little differently, so your size may not be the same in all lines of clothing that you look at.
You can get around that by trying the clothes on or if shopping online, be sure that you have the ability to return clothing if it does not fit.
Where to Shop
As said, you can shop for clothing and undergarments online or in your local mall. Don’t put it off, if you want to look good. Buy some of the fashionable clothing and add some accessories for a great look.
Sometimes you will find a specialty shop for big and tall people; sometimes it will just be a section in a department store. Start asking around among your friends, or call some shops on the phone and see what is available. Another question you might ask, is what age group their clothing might be appropriate for. If you are a teenager, you don’t want the look your grandmother might.
